· Car must fit on the track and fit in the start gate (cars from the standard kit will fit if assembled correctly)
· Cars must not interfere with other lanes and other cars.
· No part of the car may be beyond the starting post prior to start of race.
· Cars must not damage or pollute the track by means of any attachments, components, graphite, lubricants, or decorative items or other matter.
· Car may have no mechanical, electrical, or other assistance. Car must travel under gravity power only.
· Car in race configuration must not weigh more than 5 ounces. The official race scale that is used at car check-in shall be considered final.
· The overall length of the car shall not exceed 7 inches.
· The overall width of the car shall not exceed 2¾ inches including wheels.
· The car must have 1¾ inches clearance between the wheels.
· The axles may be altered, polished, and lubricated.
· Modified pinewood derby wheels are permitted.
· No third-party wheels allowed.
· If the car loses a wheel (or is otherwise damaged), the racer shall have 5 minutes to make repairs.
· Once a car passes inspection and is entered into the race, only race committee members are permitted to touch it.
